Finding Your Niche as a Multi-Passionate Mama Blogger

Are you a multi-passionate mama struggling to find your niche in the blogging world? You’re not alone! In this blog post, we’ll explore the journey of picking your niche as a multi-passionate mama and share practical tips for embracing your diverse interests while building a successful blog.

Embracing Your Multi-Passionate Nature

As multi-passionate mamas, we often find ourselves drawn to a wide range of interests and hobbies. From cooking and crafting to fitness and finance, our passions know no bounds. But when it comes to blogging, choosing a niche can feel overwhelming. Should you focus on one specific topic, or try to incorporate all of your interests into your blog?

I have struggled with this for a long time. I started this blog two years ago with the thought of it becoming a lifestyle blog, sharing my experiences in motherhood and raising my children, etc. Then I started a podcast in the personal development niche that features mamas and their transition into finding themselves again after starting their family. Those two seemed like they could blend together pretty well, but then add on a third passion of mine which is our family vlog on YouTube. The vlog documents our southern living lifestyle, but also features our travel adventures. So how do I blend this all together?

While embracing your multi-passionate nature is important, finding your focus is key to building a successful blog. Think about what sets your blog apart from the rest and how you can add value to your audience’s lives. Perhaps you have a unique perspective on motherhood, or you’re passionate about helping other mamas find balance in their busy lives. Whatever it is, finding your focus will help you attract and engage your ideal target audience.

Reflecting on Your Unique Journey

One of the first steps in picking your niche as a multi-passionate mama blogger is to reflect on your unique life experiences. Personal stories are what make your blog unique and relatable. Your journey is full of twists and turns. Share your personal stories and experiences with your audience – whether it’s a recipe that brings back fond memories of childhood, a DIY project that reflects your creative spirit, or a financial tip that helped you achieve your goals.

Take some time to journal or brainstorm ideas, and don’t be afraid to think outside the box. What are your passions, interests, and areas of expertise? Your niche doesn’t have to fit into a neat little box – it can be as unique and multifaceted as you are.

I had a coach tell me to draw three circles on a page that all intersect. Label the first circle Passion, the second circle, Proficiency, and the third circle Profit. Your niche should be comprised of all three of these things. You want to pick something you are passionate about that you can see yourself doing for the next 10+ years. It also needs to be something that you are proficient in (or at least have a head start on the audience that you want to target). And lastly, you need to have ideas for how to make a profit in that niche whether that be affiliate marketing, selling a course, having sponsored posts or videos, ad revenue, etc.

Balancing Your Passions

Ultimately, it’s important to strike a balance between your various interests and commitments. You most likely started blogging as a creative outlet and now see the potential for generating extra income. If your desire is to have time freedom and a work from anywhere job, you need to build that in from the beginning.

Don’t let your side hustle become all consuming and take you away from your family. Set realistic goals for yourself and prioritize your time accordingly. Maybe you dedicate certain days of the week to different topics on your blog, or you batch your content creation to make the most of your time. Find a rhythm that works for you and don’t be afraid to adjust as needed.

The blogging space is truly special. It is one of the best places to start sharing your authentic self with the world. Don’t be afraid to explore your interests, share your personal stories, and find your focus. By embracing your multi-passionate nature, you’ll attract an audience who resonates with your authenticity and passion. So, go ahead – pick your niche, start your blog, and let your light shine!
