Instead of New Year’s resolutions, people all over the world are focusing more on INS and OUTS to guide and shape their life. I only did outs during the year of 2024 and I learned a few things about setting these intentions. It’s always a good practice to review what you have tried in the past to find out what has worked for you and what has not.
This year, I created my list of INs an OUTs but I am only going to focus on a few of them every quarter. This way I’m not overwhelmed with trying to change multiple areas of my life all at once, all year long. That sound like a recipe for failure.
So what are my INs and OUTs and what am I focusing on this quarter? Check out this list below.
My OUTs for 2025
- Impulse Buying
- Analysis Paralysis/Perfectionism
- Blaming Kids For My Anger/Frustration
- Overconsumption of Content
- Imposter Syndrome
- Caffeine First Thing In AM
- Being On My Phone After Work
- Not Washing My Face Before Bed
- Fast Fashion
- Alcohol
My INs for 2025
- Decluttering With A Plan
- Moving My Body Every Day
- Read The Physical Bible
- Get To Church In Person
- Planned Family Time/Travel
- Red Light Therapy
- Expanding My Gratitude Practice
- Unfollowing/Unsubscribing
- Project ALIFWIN (Acting Like I’m Famous When I’m Not)
- Budgeting
Quarter 1 I’m only focusing on 5 line items.
1.I am Decluttering with a plan by following the year-long calendar created by Organized Military LIfe that can be found at the bottom of her homepage in exchange for your email address.
2. I’m choosing to move my body every day. I am creating a spreadsheet of 10-15 minute free YouTube workouts for those mamas that are short on time, gym space, and equipment. I am also using my Redliro walking pad while I’m working.I’ve had it for 2 years now and I absolutely love it. I work from home and I will say, it can be a bit loud if you were in a quiet office setting. I typically set it to 2.5 mph and walk anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. I’m also teaching my class Postpartum Foundations, starting this Monday, January 13. It is a 6-week in-person class for moms 6 weeks postpartum up to 1 year. Not only will this be helping local moms near me but will also be keeping me accountable as I am still only 5 months postpartum.
3 and 4. This year we are headed to Orlando to celebrate my 40th and have our first every combined family vacation. We have 20 people flying into Orlando from Oregon and South Carolina and we have booked a 10 bedroom house through Villatel. I can not wait! If you know me, you know I am a Disney adult and just a theme park enthusiast. I love the magic, whether it is Disney Magic or Harry Potter. I’m a yes-mom when it comes to vacations. Especially in Disney. That being said, I need to save some money, so I am really working on not impulse buying and keeping to a budget SO THAT, I can spend money when I’m on vacation. I am the spender in the family, and some of that is because I do all the grocery shopping and essentials for the family, ie: clothes, shoes, birthday presents, dog treats, etc. I buy it all. I’m reigning it in and trying to save up for this epic trip.
5. Lastly, getting my family back to in-person church. I know that we have been slacking. We haven’t been to church since Jett was born and my girls need to be in children’s church. I want them to have more Godly influence in their lives and when the only outside Bible time they get is Wednesday night Awana.
There you have it. My first 5 Ins and Outs that I will be focusing on during the beginning of the year. What are you going to focus on quarter 1? I challenge you to break down your goals, or ins and outs and focus on only a few at a time.

A trending topic is to create a list of INs and OUTs for your new year instead of the traditional New Year’s Resolutions. Do you participate in this trend? Want to know more about how to do it and actually succeed??
It’s one thing to make resolutions, ins or out; but implementing them can actually be really difficult. After doing my annual life audit that Mel Robbins outlines on her podcast . I realize that sometimes, I need to remove things from my life and not actually add anything. I’ve also realized that having a list of intentions can be overwhelming and that implementing them quarterly can be really beneficial and actually, may in fact, help you succeed in meeting your goals for the year.
In this episode I am giving you a quick and dirty look at my Ins and Outs for 2025 and which ones I’m focusing on for Quarter 1.
